By the time 1956 rolled around Chevrolet built
on the design they introduced with the 1955 model. The egg-crate style grille was replaced
with a heavier looking design.

Although
you can't quickly see it GM spent $40 million dollars in redesigning the 1956 Chevrolet.
In general the designers task was to give the body a more bulked up appearance over the
1955 model. |
