For 1963 the Corvair line didn't really produce any big surprises for the car buying public. The Series 500 still was offered as a two-door coupe, the Series 700 were offered as two-door coupes and four-door sedans, but the station wagon was gone. The slot was filled by the Chevy II wagon series simply because the Chevy II was easier to sell since it was more traditional in styling. The Series 900 were available as four-door sedans, two-door coupes and convertibles, the later were also available with the Monza Spyder option. Here's a couple of examples of the Corvairs of this year.

1964 is what many consider the last of the "early year models" for the Corvairs. Starting in 1965, the all new styled "second series" would be introduced.

Again in 1964 Chevrolet offered basicly the same models as '63 with the exception that the Series 700 was reduced to only a four-door sedan model. 1964 was the year that Corvairs made the headlines, but the press wasn't very kind to them. To read a short story about what happened please go forward and see our story titled "Unsafe At Any Speed".  Before you leave please take a look at a couple of the Corvairs released during the 1964 model year.
