With the increase of automobiles after World war II, the need to
refuel these vehicles multiplied. "Gas" stations seemed to crop up on every
corner. |

Back then the gas stations were all full service and had mechanics
that operated service bays attached to the stations. |
These stations offered services such as tune-ups, oil changes,
brake and exhaust repairs. The products the carried included batteries, fan belts, hoses
and tires. |

Today most gas
stations are self serve and they don't check under the hood anymore. At a lot of places
you even have to pay to put air in your tires. I guess that's why they're not called
"service stations" anymore. Have you noticed how many now have
"mini-marts"..... |
